Best Architecture in North America

Prompted by Ivan Rupnik, my co-instructor, and the students in the Design Tactics & Operations class at Northeastern University, I was asked to name the five  most “instructive” (i.e. “best”) works of architecture in the US. My list: 1) The Lawn, Pavilions, and gardens at the University of Virginia, 2) Rockefeller Center, 3) The Johnson Wax Building, 4) Beinecke Rare Book Library at Yale, 5) Kimball Art Museum. The Seattle Public Library was a close runner up.
