I’m always on the lookout for map and information graphic drawing techniques. Here’s an interesting post from the blog Making Maps: DIY Cartography that shows some best practices for line quality from a 1984 book.

  1. And this from the National Park Service map standards documentation:Always show dashed linework that intersects with other map features as touching. It may be necessary to adjust a few of the dash lengths. Never leave a short or extra long dash hanging.
